In Massachusetts, when a mandatory reporter files a report of child abuse or neglect, the administrative agency has 10 days to investigate and generate its own report.  That report must state whether the agency's investigation did or did not support the allegation of abuse.  And the person accused is entitled to learn what the agency's decision was and to see both reports.
