More Drano Needed for the Judiciary

Upset by the pandemic of injustice against fathers in the courts across the country and, in this case, in Massachusetts, the Coalition for the Preservation of Fatherhood (CPF), more commonly known as the Fatherhood Coalition, prepared pamphlets to be hung on bulletin boards and made available in the courts issuing retraining orders like postage stamps and prosecuting bogus violations of them.

The pamphlets were to help men facing the possible loss of liberty, often without due process, often with only hearsay evidence, and often based on only the imaginative fancies in the minds of their spouses or once-significant others.

A number of courts did allow the pamphlets, but it was becoming tedious to request permission court by court.  So one request for permission was made to the Chief Administrative Judge of the Massachusetts District Courts.  In response to his request, CPF/Fatherhood Coalition member Richard Hilly received the letter below from Samuel E. Zoll, Chief Justice, District Court Department of the Trial Court of Massachusetts.

Public Policy

Our organization focuses its work through two major programmatic areas:
  • Public Policy, including the Division for Children and Adolescent Services
  • Membership Services and Community Education including the Jane Doe Safety Fund and Wide Area Network/Management Information Systems
The Public Policy department works closely with our members and the Governor's Commission on Domestic Violence Commission (GCDV) to ensure that current needs and issues are being addressed at the state level. Jane Doe Inc. staff and members hold strategic positions on all committees and working groups, allowing us to have a major impact on the design, generation, formulation and approval of new initiatives. We also work closely with numerous organizations, agencies, state offices, corporate leaders, funders, and other stakeholders to promote multi-disciplinary domestic violence and sexual assault awareness and collaborative responses at a statewide level.

You can make a difference!   Contact your local legislator by email and let them know how you feel about pending laws that affect domestic violence victims.  The Public Policy Department holds priority support, priority oppose, support, oppose and endorse positions on a number of pending laws.
